The Arizona Comedy Experiment returns to the Herberger on June 18, 2008!
For those of you who missed it, the 2007 Arizona Comedy Experiment (known as ACE) was a rollercoaster ride of fun and comedy.
The first ACE was held Wednesday, June 20th at the Herberger Theater Center in downtown Phoenix. The afternoon kicked off with eight sold out master classes on stand up comedy, improvisation, acting, the Los Angeles acting scene and the Phoenix film landscape.
Brad Perry of KTVK NewsChannel 3 hosted the evening comedy event and captivated the audience. His antics ranged from trying to get children in the audience to wash their shoes in the dishwasher to harassing a well-known audience member to swallow a plastic knife. You should have been there.
The goal of ACE was to introduce the Phoenix Metro Area to different types of comedy and to educate the community on what phenomenal talent Arizona has to offer.
“This is a great way to get the artistic community together and showcase Valley Youth Theatre,” says Bobb Cooper, the Artistic and Producing Director for VYT. “Especially in light of the recent successes of VYT alumni Jordin Sparks in American Idol and Max Crumm in Grease.”
All proceeds from this event benefited the Valley Youth Theatre (VYT), a local non-profit organization. Founded in 1989, VYT’s mission is to have a positive impact on young people's lives by providing children with life long lessons through a wide range of performing arts opportunities. VYT's education and outreach programs enrich the lives of thousands of disadvantaged children every year who would not otherwise be introduced to the arts.
